Nearly 1,350 Broad College of Business students will receive their diplomas at https://law.unl.edu/ the spring 2014 commencement ceremonies held May 2–3 at Michigan State University’s Jack Breslin Student Events Center.

During the undergraduate commencement at 4 p.m. Saturday,  May 3, 941 students will receive degrees in the following programs:

  • Accounting: 170

  • Finance: 217

  • Hospitality Business: 148

  • Human Resource Management: 29

  • General Management: 28

  • Marketing: 117

  • Supply Chain Management: 232Six Broad graduates who not only completed their academic programs successfully, but maintained all 4.0 grades will be honored with the Board of Trustees Award:

  • Bradley R. Hull (BA Accounting ’14)

  • Ariel M. Lessens (BA Hospitality Business ’14)

  • Jone Ortiz (BA Accounting ’14)

  • Alexander J. Randall (BA Finance ’14)

  • Paul L. Van Gilder(BA Finance ’14)

  • Ranee A. Wiley (BA Accounting ’14)The keynote speaker will be Blake W. Krueger (BA Business ’75), chairman, chief executive officer, and president of Wolverine World Wide Inc. Previously, Krueger served as COO of the company and as president of Heritage Brands Group, one of Wolverine’s global operating units. He was also an executive vice president and officer for more than 20 years with responsibilities in human resources, retail, business development, licensing, acquisitions, and legal.

Stephanie Kappel (BA Marketing ’14) was selected as the student speaker from among twelve highly qualified candidates. She has held internships at Coca-Cola and at Whirlpool Corporation, where she will be working after graduation in their Real Whirled Sales Development Program.

The advanced degree ceremony will take place at the Breslin Center at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, with 407 receiving their diplomas from the following programs:

  • Full-Time MBA: 88 (14 of which are JD/MBA dual-degree students)

  • MS in Accounting: 120

  • MS in Finance: 21

  • MS in Hospitality Business Management: 20

  • MS in Supply Chain Management: 5

  • PhD: 10

  • Weekend MBA: 143Norman Augustine, retired CEO and chairman of the aeronautics company Lockheed Martin Corp., will address advanced degree candidates.
